ความร้อนทำให้คอมพิวเตอร์อายุสั้น

คอมพิวเตอร์ ของคุณมีอาการ restart เครื่องเองอัตโนมัติหรือไม่ สาเหตุหนึ่งที่ทำให้คอมพิวเตอร์อาจ restart เครื่องเอง นั่นมาจากคอมพิวเตอร์ที่สูงเกินไป (อีกสาเหตุหนึ่งอาจมาจากไวรัส) ซึ่งโดยปกติแล้ว ใน BIOS จะมีการกำหนดระดับความร้อนไว้ว่า ถ้าสูงเกินกำหนด อาจสั่งให้ Restart เครื่องใหม่ได้ด้วย ดังนั้น เรามาลองศึกษาวิธีแก้ไขลดความร้อนของคอมพิวเตอร์กันดีกว่า..
วิธีแก้ไขปัญหาคอมพิวเตอร์มีความร้อนสูงเกินปกติ

* สถานที่ติดตั้ง

ติด ตั้งและใช้งานคอมพิวเตอร์ที่ในห้องที่มีอุณหภูมิเหมาะสม ไม่ร้อนเกินไป ถ้าให้ดี ควรใช้งานในห้องที่มีเครื่องปรับอากาศ หรือที่ๆ มีอากาศถ่ายเทสะดวก

* ตำแหน่งที่เหมาะสม

ไม่ติดตั้งเครื่องคอมฯ ใกล้ชิดหรือติดผนังหรือที่ระบายอากาศไม่ดี

* การดูแลรักษา

เมื่อ มีการใช้งานคอมพิวเตอร์ไประยะหนึ่ง โดยเฉพาะกับคอมพิวเตอร์แบบตั้งโต๊ะ หรือ Desktop ฝุ่นที่เป็นต้วการทำให้คอมพิวเตอร์ร้อนผิดปกติ จะเข้าติดภายในตัวเครื่องคอมฯ ทำให้เกิดอุณหภูมิที่สูงขึ้น และเป็นที่มาของปัญหาความร้อน การแก้ไขปัญหา ควรทำความสะอาดโดยกาใช้เครื่องเป่าเพื่อปัดฝุ่นออก

* ตัวเครื่องคอมฯ

การติดตั้งพัดลมภายในตัวเครื่องคอมฯ หรือ Case ก็เป็นอีกวิธีที่ระบายความร้อนให้กับคอมพิวเตอร์ได้อีกทางหนึ่ง

เพียงแค่นี้ ก็สามารถช่วยลดปัญหาความร้อนของคอมพิวเตอร์ของคุณได้มากแล้วครับ

Login เข้า Administators

เบื่อไหม ที่ใช้ Vista แบบอยู่ภายใต้การควบคุมของระบบ
จะทำอะไรก็มี Popup ขึ้นมา "What are you doing man ?"

เรามาเปลี่ยน Logon เดิมของเรา ให้เป็น Administrator กันเถอะ
เราต้องอยู่เหนือ Vista ไม่ใช่ให้ Vista อยู่เหนื่อเรา

ตามปกติแล้ว ใน XP การที่เราจะ Logon เป็น Administrator นั้น
ต้องกด Ctrl+Alt+Del ค้างไว้ ในหน้า Logoff แล้วจะมีช่องใส่ User ขึ้นมา
แล้วก็ใส่ Administrator เพื่อเปิดใช้งานได้เลย
แต่ใน Vista ไม่สามารถทำได้
เห็นหลายคนใช้ Login เข้าไปเป็น ทาสกันหลายคน
เลยเอาทริปนี้มาให้ใช้ ได้มาจากเวปนอกนานแล้วตั้งแต่ Vista ยังเป็น Beta

วิธีปิด UAC
วิธีทำสำหรับผู้ที่ลง Vista ไว้อยู่แล้ว
1. เข้าไปที่ Control Panel เลือกมุมมองแบบคลาสสิก แล้วเลือ Administrative Tools
2. เลือก Computer Management
3. ไปที่ Local Users And Groups Users ในด้านซ้ายมือ

4. ดับเบิ้ลคลิกที่ Administrator ที่ช่องตรงกลาง
(คนที่ใช้ User ที่สร้างใหม่ สังเกตว่าจะมีชื่อ User ของตัวเองรวมอยู่ด้วย)
จากนั้น เอาเครื่องหมายถูกที่ของ Account is disabled ออก แล้ว OK ออกมา

5. Logoff ออก ออกจาก User ที่ใช้
6. จะเห็นว่ามี Administrator ขึ้นมาให้เลือกแล้ว
7. เข้าไปใช้งานตามปกติและหากใครจะลบ User เก่าออก
ให้ ทำซ้ำข้อ 1-3 แล้วลบ User เดิมออก
จากนั้นไปลบแฟ้ม User ที่เป็นชื่อเดิม ที่ C:\Users ออก
(ลบแค่แฟ้มที่เป็นชื่อ User เดิม แฟ้มอื่นห้ามลบ
หากเซฟข้อมูล รูปไว้ใน My doc/ my pic ของ User เดิมให้เข้าไปย้ายข้อมูลมาไว้ในแฟ้ม User Administrator ก่อนด้วย)
8. เป็นอันเสร็จ

10 TIPs INTERNET EXPLORER

1. แสดงพื้นที่บน Internet Explorer ให้มากที่สุด
ให้กด F11 เพื่อขยายเต็มหน้าจอ กดอีกครั้งจะเป็นการกลับสู่สภาพเดิม

2. ค้นหาข้อมูลใน web ที่กำลังใช้งาน
เราสามารถ search ข้อมูลใน web ที่กำลังเข้าไปดูอยู่ได้ โดยการกด Ctrl+F

3. ปุ่มใดแทนคำสั่ง Back ได้
ปุ่ม Backspace ใน keyboard สามารถใช้ทดแทนคำสั่ง back เวลาใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตได้

4. ปิด Window ให้เร็วดังใจ
กดปุ่ม Ctrl+W เพื่อปิด window ที่กำลังใช้งานอยู่ได้ครับ ไม่จำเป็นต้องกดปุ่ม close ก็ได้

5. ดู Address bar ว่าไปที่ไหนมาบ้าง
Address bar คือตำแหน่งที่ใช้ในการพิมพ์ url ของ web site ต่างๆ เราสามารถดูได้ว่าเคยพิมพ์อะไรไปบ้าง โดยการกด F4 แล้วโปรแกรมจะแสดงรายละเอียดให้ทราบ

6. Save URL ให้เร็วที่สุด
กดปุ่ม Ctrl+D เพื่อ save ที่อยู่ใน web site ที่คุณดูอยู่ในปัจจุบันได้ (เผื่อคราวหน้าจะได้เยี่ยมไปแวะชมอีกได้สะดวกไงครับ)

7. ส่ง web ถูกใจไปให้เพื่อน
คุณทราบหรือไม่ว่า web page ต่างๆที่เราแวะเข้าไป สามารถส่งไปให้เพื่อนดูได้ เพียงแค่เลือกเมนู File เลือก Send และเลือกหัวข้อ Page by Email แค่นี้เพื่อนคุณก็จะได้รับ web ที่มีหน้าตาเหมือนกับที่คุณกำลังดูอยู่แล้วล่ะครับ

8. เลื่อนดูหน้า web อย่างรวดเร็ว
ปกติเวลาจะดูรายละเอียดของ web page แต่ละหน้า จำเป็นต้องใช้เม้าส์คลิกลาก ขึ้น-ลง ด้านบนสุด หรือล่างสุด ทำ
ให้ไม่สะดวกนักสำหรับผู้ไม่ถนัดในการใช้เมาส์ ลองกดปุ่ม Home หรือ End ดู คงช่วยอะไรคุณได้บ้าง

9. อยาก save ภาพเป็น wallpaper
บางครั้งเราแวะไปเยี่ยมชม web site บางแห่ง แล้วถูกใจในรูปภาพนั้นๆและอยากจะนำกลับมาเป็น wallpaper สำหรับโปรแกรม Internet Explorer มีตัวช่วยให้คุณครับ เพียงแค่คลิกขวาที่บริเวณภาพ จากนั้นเลือกคำสั่ง Set as wallpaper

10. เลื่อนขึ้น-ลง ทีละนิด
web บางหน้าอาจมีความยาวมาก การจะเลื่อนหน้าทีละนิดเพื่ออ่านข้อมูล ถ้าจะใช้เมาส์ บางทีอาจไม่สะดวกนัก ให้กดปุ่ม Page Up หรือ Page Down แทนการกดคีย์ลูกศรดูสิครับ จะทำงานได้เร็วขึ้นเยอะเลยครับ

USB 2.0 กับข้อมูลที่ควรระวัง

USB ย่อมาจาก Universal Serial Bus เป็นพอร์ท หรือช่องทางในการสื่อสารระหว่างคอมพิวเตอร์กับอุปกรณ์อื่นๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Printer, Modem, Mouse, Keyboard, Digital Camera และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย

USB เริ่มต้นมีการใช้งานจะมีรุ่น USB 1.1 ต่อมาได้มีการพัฒนาให้มีความเร็วสูงขึ้น โดยเปลี่ยนเป็นเวอร์ชั่น USB 2.0 โดยมีรายละเอียดดังนี้

* USB เวอร์ชั่น 1.1 มีความเร็วในการรับส่งข้อมูล 12 Mbits ต่อวินาที

เทคนิคหนึ่งที่นำมาใช้เสมอกรณีที่เริ่ม Setup คอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับใช้งานเองก็คือ จัดแบ่งพาร์ติชั่นให้เหมาะสม โดยแยกให้เป็นพาร์ติชั่นสำหรับระบบปฏิบัติการ พาร์ติชั่นสำหรับ Application และสำหรับ Cache Drive หรือ Temp Drive และเมื่อใดก็ตามที่เห็นผู้ใช้งานท่านใด บ่นว่าไม่มีพื้นที่ในการเก็บข้อมูล เราว่าปัญหาแท้จริงนั้นไม่ใช่ว่าพื้นที่ทั้งหมดในฮาร ์ดดิสก์เต็มไปด้วยข้อมูล แต่ปัญหาจริงๆ ก็คือว่า การขาดการจัดการที่ดีมากกว่า แม้แต่ข้อมูลในฮาร์ดดิสก์ก็ต้องการการจัดการ

กรณีนี้กล่าวถึงเฉพาะในพาร์ติชั่นของระบบปฏิบัติการแ ละ Application เท่านั้น ส่วนตัวแล้ว กำหนดให้มีขนาดไม่เกิน 800
เมกะไบต์ เพราะถือว่าการติดตั้งซอฟต์แวร์ Application ในปริมาณที่เกินกว่า 1 เมกะไบต์นั้น เป็นการสิ้นเปลืองและการไม่ได้ใช้ประโยชน์อย่างแท้จร ิง รวมไปถึงการจัดการที่ไม่ดีด้วย แต่ถึงกระนั้นก็ตาม พื้นที่ 800 เมกะไบต์ของผมก็ยังเต็มอยู่บ่อย ด้วยเหตุนี้ผมจึงเรียบเรียง กลวิธีง่ายๆในการดูแลพาร์ติชั่นดังกล่าวให้สะอาดและม ีพื้นที่ว่างประมาณ 30 - 50 เมกะไบต์เสมอ ทำไมต้องมีพื้นที่ว่าง เพราะต้องว่างไว้สำหรับข้อมูลแคชของ Netscape , Internet Explorer , ไฟล์ที่มีผู้ส่งให้ทาง E-mail และข้อมูลที่ต้องถูกเก็บโดยอัตโนมัติในพาร์ติชั่นเดี ยวกับ Application ไม่สามารถแยกเก็บต่างหากได้

1. Recycles Bin คือ สถานที่แรกที่ควรพิจารณาจัดการ ปกติถ้าหากไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงใดๆ ขนาดของถังขยะจะมีความจุ 1/10 เท่าของพื้นที่พาร์ติชั่น กรณีของฮาร์ดดิสก์ 1 กิกะไบต์ ก็จะมีถังขยะขนาด 100 เมกะไบต์ หากไม่จัดการให้เหมาะสม ปล่อยให้ถังขยะเต็มอยู่ตลอดเวลา ก็จะเสียพื้นที่ 100 เมกะไบต์ไปโดยเปล่าประโยชน์

2. การจัดการกับข้อมูลใน Disk Cache ของบราวเซอร์ เช่น Netscape , Internet Explorer ข้อดีของการมีข้อมูลเหล่านั้นไว้ก็คือ ประหยัดเวลาในการดาวน์โหลดจากอินเตอร์เน็ต และใช้ดูขณะ Offline ได้ แต่ข้อเสียก็คือใช้พื้นที่ในฮาร์ดดิสก์ ทางที่ดีควร "ล้างแคช" โดยการใช้ฟังก์ชั่น Clear Cache ของบราวเซอร์ที่ใช้งาน กรณีของ Netscape นั้น ไฟล์ที่ดาวน์โหลดจากอินเตอร์เน็ตอยู่ใน C:\Program File\Netcape\…\cache ส่วนกรณีของ Internet Explorer นั้นอยู่ใน C:\Windows\Teporary Internet File\ พื้นที่ที่ใช้ในการเก็บไฟล์เหล่านั้นเริ่มจากไม่กี่เ มกะไบต์ไปจนหลายสิบเมกะ ไบต์ ซึ่งหากพิจารณาแล้วเห็นว่าไม่ได้ใช้งานก็ควรลบออก

3. การจัดการกับไฟล์ที่ส่งแนบมากับจดหมายอิเลคทรอนิคส์ และไฟล์ข้อมูลที่ดาวน์โหลดเข้าเก็บไว้โดยโปรแกรมประเ ภท Offline Web Browser สำหรับไฟล์ที่แนบมากับจดหมายอิเลคทรอนิคส์นั้น อาจต้องการใช้งานระยะเวลาสั้นๆ หลังจากต้องดำเนินการขั้นต่อไปคือ ตัดสินใจว่าจะสำรองข้อมูลไว้ หรือลบทิ้ง หรือนำไปจัดเก็บในพาร์ติชั่นสำหรับข้อมูล ส่วนไฟล์ HTMLและรูปภาพที่ดาวน์โหลดโดย Offline Web Browser ถ้าหากต้องการเก็บไว้อ้างอิงระยะยาว ก็ควรย้ายไปยังพาร์ติชั่นสำหรับข้อมูลเช่นกัน หากไม่ต้องการใช้ก็ลบทิ้ง พื้นที่ว่างที่ได้เพิ่มขึ้นนั้น หลากหลายตามสัดส่วนความรกของไฟล์ สำหรับไฟล์ที่รับจาก e-mail กรณีที่ใช้งาน Eudora พบว่าบางครั้งไฟล์ขนาดใหญ่ และรับครั้งเดียวไม่สำเร็จ และเมื่อรับครั้งต่อไป ไฟล์นั้นจะถูกทิ้งไว้ และสร้างชื่อใหม่ขึ้นอีก ไฟล์ที่ใช้ได้คือไฟล์ที่สมบูรณ์ที่สุด ดังนั้นจึงควรตรวจสอบและกำจัดไฟล์ขยะทิ้งไป

4. ไฟล์นามสกุล .tmp ใน C:\Windows\temp เป็นไฟล์ชั่วคราว (Temporary File)ที่ถูกสร้างขณะที่ใช้งาน Application ต่างๆ ถ้าหากการใช้งานคอมพิวเตอร์โดยการเปิด-ปิดตามปกติ ไฟล์ชั่วคราวดังกล่าวจะถูกทำลายโดยอัตโนมัติเมื่อใช้ งานเสร็จ แต่ในกรณีที่วินโดวส์หยุดทำงานเพราะแฮงค์ ไฟล์ชั่วคราวดังกล่าวจะเหลืออยู่ และเมื่อเป็นปริมาณมากๆ ขนาดก็ใหญ่ตาม การกำจัดทำได้โดยใช้ยูทิลิตีส์ เช่น Norton Utility | Space Wizard

5. ทิ้งชิ้นส่วนที่ไม่ได้ใช้งานแต่ถูกติดตั้งลงไปเมื่อต ิดตั้งวินโดวส์ สำหรับวินโดวส์ภาษาไทย สิ่งที่ลบออกได้ก็คือ C:\Program File\Online Service จะสังเกตเห็นว่า Online Services ที่ให้มานั้นคือ ของ AT &T , CompuServe, AOL ซึ่งเป็น บริการที่หาไม่ได้ในประเทศไทย แต่ถูกติดตั้งโดยอัตโนมัติ ไม่มีตัวเลือกให้ว่าจะเลือกติดตั้งหรือไม่ติดตั้ง และไม่มีตัว Uninstall ที่มากับ Windows ด้วย การลบทำได้สองวีธีคือ ลบด้วยมือ โดยเข้าไปลบใน Windows Explorer หรือใช้ยูทิลิตีส์ในการ Uninstall เช่น Clean Sweep , Uninstall การทิ้งส่วนนี้ให้พื้นที่ว่างถึง 9 เมกะไบต์

6. Application ที่แถมมากับวินโดวส์ แต่ไม่ได้ใช้งาน กรณีนี้ควรตรวจสอบก่อนลบว่าต้องการใช้อยู่หรือไม่ เช่น Hyper Terminal , Word Pad Thai , Windows Messaging , Paint ,ทำให้พื้นที่ว่างลงอีกหลายเมกะไบต์ได้เช่นกัน การเอาออกทำได้โดยใช้ฟังก์ชัน Add/Remove Program ใน Control Panel

7. ไฟล์สำหรับติดตั้งระบบปฏิบัติการ แต่หลงเหลือไว้ในฮาร์ดดิสก์หลังจากติดตั้งวินโดวส์เส ร็จเรียบร้อย พบในบางกรณี เช่น Notebook ยี่ห้อ Toshiba เมื่อซื้อมานั้น มักจะมาพร้อมกับวินโดวส์ 95 ซึ่งถูกติดตั้งเรียบร้อย แล้ว แต่ไฟล์สำหรับติดตั้งนั้นจะอยู่ใน C:\Windows\Option ซึ่งมีขนาดความจุ 60 - 90 เมกะไบต์ ทั้งนี้ประโยชน์ของการมีไฟล์ดังกล่าวไว้คือ กรณีที่วินโดวส์เสียหาย ก็สามารถติดตั้งจากตัวต้นฉบับที่ถูกคัดลอกไว้ดังกล่า วได้ แต่ก็เสียพื้นที่ในฮาร์ดดิสก์ไป ทางที่ดีควรพิจารณาสำรองไว้ในแผ่นฟล๊อปปี้ หรือหากเป็นการใช้งานคอมพิวเตอร์ในเครือข่าย (Workgroup) ก็ควรขอพื้นที่ในเซอร์เวอร์ เพื่อฝากไฟล์ดังกล่าว หรือหากไม่สามารถลบทิ้ง ไม่สามารถฝากไฟล์ไว้ที่เครื่องอื่นได้ แนะนำให้ลบไฟล์ชื่อ wowkit.exe ซึ่งมีขนาดถึง 19 เมกะไบต์ออก เพราะเป็นไฟล์ที่ไม่ได้ใช้งานกันตามปกติเช่นเดียวกัน

8. ไล่ดูแต่ละโฟลเดอร์ทั้งใหญ่และย่อยถ้าทำได้ บางทีอาจจะเหลือขยะที่ทำให้เราจัดการได้บ้าง เช่น ไฟล์ตกค้างใน Eudora , ไฟล์ตกค้างจากการใช้ Offline Browser เช่น Teleport หรือไฟล์ที่เราอาจจะค้นพบได้เพิ่มเติมว่า มันไม่มีประโยชน์ และเปลืองพื้นที่ฮาร์ดดิสก์โดยไม่จำเป็น

อันนี้เป็นการ Hack เว็บที่ใช้ฐานข้อมูลเป็น SQL ซึ่งตามที่ต่างๆก็จะอุด Bug ตรงส่วนนี้ไว้เรียบร้อยแล้ว แต่ก็มีบางเว็บ site (Script เขียนเองซึ่งมักจะเป็นเว็บไซต์ของโรงเรียนหรือเว็บส่วนบุคคล) ที่มักจะมีรูรั่วนี้ออกมาให้เห็น
หลังจากที่การ Login ค่าที่เป็นไปได้หลังจากการ login ก็คือ

ยกเลิกปุ่ม GO ที่อยู่ใน Internet Explorer

เมื่อท่านไม่ได้ใช้ปุ่ม GO ที่อยู่มุมขวามือของหน้าต่าง IE ซึ่งใช้สำหรับการสั่งให้ทำงานไปยังURL
ที่ท่านได้ป้อนข้อมูลเข้าไปใน Address ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เมื่อท่านได้ป้อนชื่อ URL เสร็จแล้วท่านก็จะ
กด Enter มากกว่าที่จะมาคลิกที่ปุ่ม GO เมื่อดูแล้วมีประโยชน์ก็เอาออกซะ ด้วยวิํธีการต่อไปนี้

1. ให้ท่านเปิดหน้า IE ขึ้นมาแล้วคลิกที่เมนู Tools > Internet Options

ACDSee

1. เปิดโปรแกรม ACDSee
2. คลิกเลือกโฟลเดอร์ที่เก็บไฟล์ที่ต้องการพิมพ์รายชื่อ จากรายการในหน้าต่างด้านซ้าย
3. สังเกตจะมีรายชื่อไฟล์ปรากฏขึ้นในหน้าต่างด้านขวา
4. กดปุ่ม Ctrl+G ชื่อไฟล์ทั้งหมดจะถูกนำไปใส่ไว้ในโปรแกรม NotePad
5. ก็อบปี้ข้อความที่ได้จากโปรแกรม NotePad ไปจัดรูปแบบให้สวยงามด้วย

จากตรงนี้คุณก็จะสามารถ นำตรงนี้ไปประยุกต์ใช้งานได้ครับ ^^

86.การปริ้นรายการใน Folderที่เราต้องการคับ

เวลา ส่วนหนึ่งของการปิด win ทุกเวอร์ชัน จะถูกใช้ในการรอโหลดไฟล์เสียง ดังนั้นท่านสามารถปิดเสียงที่ไม่ค่อยมีประโยชน์นี้ เพื่อเร่งให้ xp ปิดเครื่องได้เร็วขึ้นอีกหน่อย
ไปที่ start >setting>control panel ไปที่ sound and audio device

ไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ ipconfig /flushdns แล้ว ok

78.เอาใหม่แบบ เต็มๆ ลง WIN XP
เริ่ม ต้น โดยการเซ็ตให้บู๊ตเครื่องจาก CD-Rom Drive ก่อน โดยการเข้าไปปรับตั้งค่าใน bios ของเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ โดยเลือกลำดับการบู๊ต ให้เลือก CD-Rom Drive เป็นตัวแรกครับ (ถ้าหากเป็นแบบนี้อยู่แล้ว ก็ไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนอะไร)

ทำการปรับ เครื่อง เพื่อให้บู๊ตจาก CD-Rom ก่อน จากนั้นก็บู๊ตเครื่องจากแผ่นซีดี Windows XP Setup โดยเมื่อบู๊ตเครื่องมา จะมีข้อความให้กดปุ่มอะไรก็ได้ เพื่อบู๊ตจากซีดีครับ ก็เคาะ Enter ไปที่นึงก่อน

โปรแกรมจะทำการตรวจสอบและเช็คข้อมูลอยู่พักนึง รอจนขึ้นหน้าจอถัดไปครับ

เข้ามาสู่หน้า Welcome to Setup กดปุ่ม Enter เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

หน้าของ Licensing Agreement กดปุ่ม F8 เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

ทำการเลือก Drive ของฮาร์ดดิสก์ที่จะลง Windows XP แล้วกดปุ่ม Enter เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

เลือก ชนิดของระบบ FAT ที่จะใช้งานกับ Windows XP หากต้องการใช้ระบบ NTFS ก็เลือกที่ข้อบน แต่ถ้าจะใช้เป็น FAT32 หรือของเดิม ก็เลือกข้อสุดท้ายได้เลย ( no changes) ถ้าไม่อยากวุ่นวาย แนะนำให้เลือก FAT32 นะครับ แล้วกดปุ่ม Enter เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

โปรแกรมจะเริ่มต้นขั้นตอนการติดตั้ง รอสักครู่ครับ

หลัง จากนั้น โปรแกรมจะทำการ Restart เครื่องใหม่อีกครั้ง (ให้ใส่แผ่นซีดีไว้ในเครื่องแบบนั้น แต่ไม่ต้องกดปุ่มใด ๆ เมื่อบู๊ตเครื่องใหม่ ปล่อยให้โปรแกรมทำงานไปเองได้เลยครับ)

หลังจากบู๊ตเครื่องมาคราวนี้ จะเริ่มเห็นหน้าตาของ Windows XP แล้วครับ รอสักครู่

โปรแกรมจะเริ่มต้นขั้นตอนการติดตั้งต่าง ๆ ก็รอไปเรื่อย ๆ ครับ

จะมีเมนูของการให้เลือก Regional and Language ปรับเวลาให้เป็น Bangkok Hanoi... ฯ

ใส่ชื่อและบริษัทของผู้ใช้งาน ใส่เป็นอะไรก็ได้ แล้วกดปุ่ม Next เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

ทำการใส่ Product Key (จะมีในด้านหลังของแผ่นซีดี) แล้วกดปุ่ม Next เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

หน้าจอให้ใส่ Password ของ Admin ให้ปล่อยว่าง ๆ ไว้แบบนี้แล้วกดปุ่ม Next เพื่อทำการติดตั้งต่อไป

รอ ครับ รอ รอ รอสักพัก จนกระทั่งขั้นตอนต่าง ๆ เสร็จเรียบร้อย ก็พร้อมแล้วสำหรับการเข้าสู่ระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows XP ครับ จากนั้น จะมีการบูตเครื่องใหม่อีกครั้ง เพื่อเริ่มต้นการใช้งานจริง ๆ

บู๊ต เครื่องใหม่คราวนี้ อาจจะมีเมนูแปลก ๆ แบบนี้ เป็นการเลือกว่า เราจะบู๊ตจากระบบ Windows ตัวเก่าหรือจาก Windows XP ครับ ก็เลือกที่ Microsoft Windows XP Professional ครับ ถ้าของใครไม่มีเมนูนี้ก็ไม่เป็นไรนะครับ

เริ่มต้นบู๊ตเครื่อง เข้าสู่ระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows XP แล้วครับ

ใน ครั้งแรก อาจจะมีการถามเรื่องของขนาดหน้าจอที่ใช้งาน กด OK เพื่อให้ระบบตั้งขนาดหน้าจอให้เราได้เลยครับ นอกจากนี้ ถ้าหากเครื่องไหนมีการถาม การติดตั้งค่าต่าง ๆ ก็กดเลือกที่ Next หรือ Later ไปก่อน บางครั้งอาจจะมีให้เราทำการสร้าง Username อย่างน้อย 1 ชื่อก่อนเข้าใช้งาน ก็ใส่ชื่อของคุณเข้าไปได้เลย
เสร็จแล้วครับ

ClearType คือรูปแบบการแสดงตัวอักษรที่ microsoft ได้พัฒนาขึ้น เพื่อให้ท่านสามารถอ่านและเขียนตัวอักษรต่างๆได้ชัดเ จนและสบายตายิ่งขึ้น
การเปิดใช้งาน ClearType สามารถทำง่ายๆโดย

41. ลบข้อมูลใน page file หลังจากปิดเครื่อง
โดย ปกติ window จะไม่ทำการลบ หรือสร้าง page file หลังจากที่ windows ทำการปิดโปรแกรมหรือ windows นั่นหมายความว่าถ้าเรามีการใช้งานเครื่องคอมมากๆอาจจะทำให้คอมทำงานช้าลง และอาจจะทำให้มีผลกระทบต่อความปลอดภัยของคอมพิวเตอร์ อีกด้วย
ดังนั้นควรให้ window ทำการลบ page file ทุกครั้งเมื่อมีการปิดเครื่อง ทำได้ดังนี้

ใน รูปแบบต่างๆ ซิ่งเป็นการเรียก window ขึ้นมาใช้งานแบบน้อยที่สุดแล้วสามารถเข้าไปตรวจสอบ และแก้ไขสิ่งที่ผิดพลาดที่ทำให้ระบบไม่ทำงาน
สำหรับ safe mode ของ xp กดปุ่ม f8 ค้างไว้ขณะเครื่องกำลังเข้าสู winxp
1.safe mode
เข้าสู่รูปแบบปกติที่เหมือนกับ ver อื่นๆ
2.safe mode with networking
เข้าสู่รูปแบบปกติ แต่สามารถเข้าถึงระบบเครื่อข่ายได้
3.safe mode with command prompt
เข้าสู่คำสั่ง dos
4.enable boot logging
เข้าสู่ลักษณะการเก็บข้อมูลขั้นตอนการบู๊ตเข้าสู่ระบบลงสู่ไฟล์เอกสาร
5.enable vga mode
เข้าสู่ลักษณะที่มีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการ์ดจอ หรือมีปัญหาเกี่ยวกับจอภาพตัวใหม่
6.last know good configuration
คล้ายกับ system restore ย้อนกลับไปหน้าที่มีการจัดระบบที่ดีก่อนหน้านี้
7. Debugging mode
เข้าสู่การแก้ไขปัญหาในระบบขั้นสูง
8.start windows normally
เข้าสู่ win xp ในหน้าปกติ
9. Return to os choices menu
เข้าสู่ลักษณะเครื่องที่มีหลาย os

43.driver ลงใหม่ แล้วมีปัญหาใช้ของเก่าดีกว่า
เมื่อ ท่านติดตั้งอุปกรณ์ใหม่แล้วต้องติดตั้ง software driver ลงไป อาจมีผลทำให้เครื่องทำงานผิดปกติ สามารถย้อนกลับไปใช้ของเดิม ดังนี้
คลิกขวา mycom > propoties
hardware > device manager
เปิดหาไดร์เวอร์ที่มีปันหา จาเห็นเป็นตัวกากบาทสีแดง ก็ดับเบิ้ลคลิก
ไปแถบ driver
คลิก roll back driver
กด ok

44. วิธีสร้าง Shortcut หน้าเว็บที่ต้องการเข้าบ่อยๆ จากบราวเซอร์ Internet Explorer
ถ้า หากเจอเว็บไซด์ไหนที่เราถูกใจ หรือมีกระทู้ที่เราต้องการจะติดตามผลจากการโพสของเรา หรือของคนอื่นๆ ให้ทำการคลิ๊กขวาตรงพื้นที่ว่างๆ ของหน้าเว็บ เลือก Create Shortcut แล้วกด OK ก็จะได้ Shortcut สำหรับเข้าหน้าเว็บนั้นๆ อยู่ที่ Desktop แล้วครับ
ปล. ผมมักจะใช้วิธีนี้บ่อยๆในการติดตามกระทู้ที่ผมเคยถาม -ตอบเอาไว้จากบอร์ดต่างๆหรือ เจอเว็บไหนที่เข้าตาก็จะเก็บ Shortcut เว็บนั้นๆเอาไว้ในเครื่อง

45.เปิดหน้าต่าง IE ให้ทำงานได้เร็วขึ้น
เมื่อใช้งาน IE ไปนานๆ ทำไมโปรแกรมช้าลงทุกที สามารถทำให้เร็วเหมือนตอนติดตั้งใหม่ได้ ดังนี้

registry เปรียบเหมือนศูนย์กลางของข้อมูล ทำหน้าที่จัดเก็บข้อมูลต่างๆอย่างเป็นหมวดหมู่ การเพิ่ม ลบ ติดตั้ง แก้ไขทุกอย่างอยู่ในนี้ทั่งหมด
แต่ละตัวมีหน้าทีไรบ้าง
HKEY_CLASSES_ ROOT
ใช้สำหรับเก็บสมบัติต่างๆและข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ software ทั้งหมดที่ติดตั้งภายในเครื่องคอม

HKEY_CURRENT_ USER
ใช้ สำหรับเก็บข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวกับผู้ที่ใช้งานปัจจุบันที่เข้ามาใช้งานเท่านั้น โดยจะมีความสัมพันธ์และเป็นข้อมูลชุดเดียวกับ HKEY_USERS

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
ใช้สำหรับเก็บข้อมูลด้าน hardware software และการตั้งค่าอื่นๆ ภายในเครื่อง ข้อมูลภายในของส่วนนี้จะสามารถใช้งานกับทุกคนที่ใช้คอม

HKEY_USERS
ใช้สำหรับเก็บข้อมูลเฉพาะที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้ใช้ทั้ง หมด จะมีความสัมพันธ์กับ HKEY_CURRENT_ USER

HKEY_CURRENT_ CONFIG
ใช้สำหรับเก็บข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวกับการกำหนดค่าต่างๆของ hardware หรือ อุปการณ์ต่อพ่วงทั้งหมด

47.จะเปลี่ยนภาษา ~ ให้ใช้งานได้
ไปที่ start >setting >control panel
ดับเบิ้ลคลิกที่ Regional and Language Option
เลือกแถบ Regional Option
อันบนเปลี่ยนเป็น thai ล่างสุด thailand
เลือกแถบ Languages
ใส่เครื่องหมายถูกหน้า install files for complex script..... ต้องมี แผ่น win xp ด้วย
แล้ว ok
แล้วไปแถบ advance เลือก thai
แล้ว ok
แล้วมาที่ แถบ languages ในกรอบ text services and input language ให้เลือก details...

48.firewall ผนังกั้นแฮกเเกอร์รึป่าว ?
ใน winxp มีส่วนของการรักษาความปลอดภัยสำหรับการท่องเน็ตจากการถูกแฮกเกอร์เจาะระบบในขณะออนไล
น์ ซึ่งมีผลทำให้ ข้อมูลอาจถูกเปิดเผยและถูกทำลายได้
เราสามารถตั้งค่า firewall ได้ตามนี้
start>setting>network connection
เลือกที่ internet ที่ใช้อยู่ คลิกขวา propoties
ไปแถบ advanced
ติ๊กถูกที่ protect my com and........ จะเป็นการเปิด firewall
แล้วก็ ok

49. วิธีเปิด Properties ของ File แบบใช้ Shortcut Keyboard
จากของเก่าที่ต้องคลิกขวาแล้วเลือก Properties
โดย ให้ใช้ปุ่มลูกศรเลื่อนไปที่ File ที่ต้องการแล้วกด Alt ค้างไว้แล้ว Enter หรือใครเซียนจัดมือขวาจับเมาส์มือซ้ายอยู่ที่คีย์บอร์ด ก็คลิกขวาแล้วพิมพ์ r ก็ได้นะครับ

ในหน้าจอ Explorer หรือ My Computer ต้องการให้ View ที่ตั้งเอาไว้เช่น Large Icons,Small Icons,List,Details ไม่เปลี่ยนไป
ทำ ได้โดยเปิด Explorer หรือ My Computer ที่เมนูบาร์ด้านบนคลิก Tools>Folder Options หรือหาได้ที่ Start>Control Panel>Folder Options เลือก Tab View เอาเครื่องหมายถูกหน้า Remember each folder's view settings ออก

50.เพิ่มความเร็วในการรีเฟรชจอภาพ
ในการเปลี่ยนแปลงทุกครั้งเมื่อมีการเพิ่มโฟลเดอร์หรือลบสิ่งต่างๆในหน้าต่างย่อย ต้องกดรีเฟรชโดยการกด F5 เพื่อดูค่าที่เปลี่ยนแปลง
เราสามารถให้มันรีเฟรชภาพอัตโนมัติ ได้ ดังนี้

แล้วกดที่ update ด้านซ้าย

31. ใน winxp มันจะมีคล้าย winzip จะเป็นตัว Built-in Zip
โปรแกรม นี้ใช้งานง่ายและสะดวก แต่มันจะมีข้อจำกัดและลูกเล่นน้อยกว่าพวก WinZip winrar ที่โปรแกรมพวกนี้ถูกสร้างมาเพื่อนบีบคลาย zip โดยเฉพาะ
เราสามารถยกเลิกการใช้งาน built-in Zip และหันไปใช้ WinZip หรือ winrar แทนได้ดังนี้
ไปที่ start>run พิมพ์
regsvr32 /u %windir%\system32\ zipfldr.dll
แล้ว ok จากนั้นจะมีการเตือน ให้กด ok อีกครั้ง ก็เป็นการยกเลิก

32.เพิ่มความเร็วด้วยการจัดคิวให้กับ IRQ
เทคนิค นี้เป็นการเร่งความเร็วให้กับเครื่องคอม โดย windows จะทำการจัดคิวให้กับการใช้งาน IRQ ทำให้ windows สามารถทำงานได้เร็วขึ้น ทำได้ดังนี้

33.จูนหน่วยความจำสำหรับง่านต่างๆ
หน่วยความจำเป็นฮาร์ดแวร์ที่สำคัญมากตัวหนึ่ง เทคนิคนี้จะทำหารสั่งให้ไฟล์ระบบต่างๆไปใช้แคชแทนเพื่อช่วยให้สามารถทำงานได้รวดเร็ว
ขึ้น เนื้อจากแคชสามารถทำงานได้เร็วกว่า HDD หลายเท่า ทำได้ดังนี้

เป็นหน่วยหนึ่งที่ใช้กำหนดค่าให้กับการรับส่งข้อมูลผ่านระบบเครือข่ายที่สูงสุดในการ

38. วิธีเร่งความเร็ว Windows ด้วย vitual memory
เนื่อง จากโปรแกรมมีขนาดใหญ่กว่าขนาดหน่วยความจำที่เรามีใช้งาน คอมจึงจำเป็นต้องมีหน่วยความจำเสมือนหรือ vitual memory เพื่อนมาสามารถทำงานได้ดีขึ้น ทำได้ดังนี้

39. เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพด้วยการเก็บไฟล์ระบบไว้ในหน่วยความจำ
โปรแกรม วินโดว์จำมีหน้าที่ในการจัดสรรเนื้อที่หน่วยความจำให้กับระบบต่างๆ โดยปกติเมื่อมีการเรียกใช้ข้อมูลที่มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าหน่วยความจำที่มีอยู่ โปรแกรมจะทำการนำข้อมูลที่ไม่ได้ใช้แล้ว ในหน่วยความจำออกมาไว้ใน HDD ก่อนแล้วจึงโหลดข้อมูลข้อมูลชุดใหม่ลงไป

21. ใครแอบดูเราตอนเล่นเนต์ อาจจะมีเซียนมือโปรเข้ามาขโมยข้อมูลเราก็ได้ เราสามารถใช้ win xp ตรวจดูได้
ไปที่ start > run พิมพ์ nestat 20 แล้วกด ok
ปรากฏหน้าต่างขึ้นมาดูว่ามี ip อันไหนแปลกปลอมเข้ามาบ้าง โดยโปรแกรมจะตรวจทุกๆ 20 วินาที

22.ดู ip เครื่องยังไง
ไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ cmd แล้ว ok
แล้วพิมพ์ ipconfig แล้วกด enter
ดูตรง ip address

23.อาการเม้าส์เจ๊ง ถ้าไม่มีเวลาไปซื้อ ก็ต้องใช้ คีย์บอร์ด แทนไปก่อน
ทำได้ดังนี้
ไปที่ start >setting>control panal
ดับเบิ้ลคลิกที่ accessibility options
เลือก แถบ mouse คลิกเครื่องหมายถูกหน้า use mouse keys คลิกปุ่ม settings ในกรอบ keyboard shortcut คลิกเม้าส์ที่ช่องของ use shortcut เพื่อกำหนดดารใช้งานของ keyboard คลิกปุ่ม ok

24.เวลาเอาโปรแกรมขึ้นมาหน้าจอเดสทอป
จะเห็นลูกศร ซึ่งท่านรำคาญมาก เอาลูกศรออกจากช๊อตคัดของโปรแกรมได้ดังนี้
ไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ regedit
เลือก HKEY_CLASSES_ ROOT\Inkfile แล้วดูข้างขวา
จะมี IsShortcut แล้วคลิกขวา delete ไปเลย กด yes แล้วปิดหน้าต่าง regedit ไปเลย
จะเห็นว่าลูกศรหายไปแล้ว ^^

25.เวลาจะเข้ าเวปที่ลงท้ายด้วย .. com เช่น siamsport
เราไม่ต้องเสียเวลานั่งพิมพ์ www.siamsport. com ในช่องแอดเดรส
แต่ให้เราพิมพ์แค่ siamsport แล้วกด Ctrl+Enter เท่านี้ก็พอ
มันก็จะเป็น http://www.siamspor t.com
โดยอัตโนมัติ

26. ลบโปรแกรมให้หมดจด
การ uninstall หรือ add/remove ก็ใช่ว่าจะลบไปจากเครื่องได้หมด เพราะมันจะยังอยู่ใน registry ของเครื่อง
ไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ regedit
เลือกที่ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Uninstall
ลบโปรแกรมที่ ลบออก

27. การปิดเซอร์วิสสำหรับผู้ใช้คนเดียว
จะช่วยเพิ่มความเร็วและประสิทธิภาพในการทำงานให้กับระบบ และสำหรับผู้ที่ใช้คอมที่ไม่มีการเชื่อมต่อกับ
เครือ ข่ายต่างๆเช่นระบบ แลน ผู้ใช้ตามบ้าน สามารถปิดเซอร์วิสจำนวนมากที่เกี่ยวกับเครือข่าย ซึ่งไม่มีการใช้งาน ดังนี้ alerter , clipbook , computer browser , fast user switching ฯลฯ
โดยไปที่ start >setting>control panel > administrative tools >service
โปรแกรม service จาปรากฏขึ้น ในกรอบด้านขวา จะเห็นรายการเซอร์วิสต่างๆ สามารถปิดเซอร์วิสต่างๆเพื่อเพิ่มความเร็วกับระบบ ด้วยการ ดับเบิ้ลคลิกบนเซอร์วิส ในไดอะล๊อกบอกซ์ propoties ที่ปรากฏขึ้น หัวข้อ startup type ให้กำหนดเป็น disbled แล้วคลิก ok

28.shutdown ของ winxp
ใครก็รู้ว่ามันนานมาก ทิปนี้จาสามารถปิดเครื่องจากธรรมดา 50 วินาที จะเหลือเพียง 20-25 วินาที
โดยไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\control panel\desktop
ในกรอบด้านขวา HungAppTimeout ว่ามีค่าเท่ากับ 5000 ตามค่า default ให้เปลี่ยนเป็น 2000
จากนั้นดูที่ WaitToKillAppTimeou t จะเห็นค่า default เท่ากับ 20000 ให้ดับเบิ้ลคลิก แล้วแก้เป็น 4000
จากนั้นไปที่ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ System\CurrentCo ntrolSet\ Control
ที่ด้านขวา แก้ไขค่า WaitToKillServiceTi meout จาก 20000 ให้เท่ากับ 4000
ปิดโปรแกรม แล้วลองปิดเครื่อง............ . ............ ........ .......

29. เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพโดยการปรับแต่งหน่วยความจำ
ใน windows ทุกๆ ver. เมื่อหน่วยความจำของระบบไม่เพียงพอต่อการใช้งาน เช่นในกรณีที่ท่านเปิดโปรแกรมเป็นจำนวนมาก windows จะนำข้อมูลบางส่วนเก็บไว้ใน HDD โดยอัตโนมัติ เป็นการใช้ HDD เป็นเหมือนหน่วยความจำเสมือน
เราก็รู้ดีว่า แรมนั้นเร็วกว่า HDD ดังนั้น ถ้าท่านมีหน่วยความจำติดตั้งอยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก <มากกว่า 256> ท่านสามารถเพิ่มประสิทธิการทำงานของระบบด้วยการปิดการย้ายข้อมูลไปยัง HDD ของ windows โดยการ
ไปที่ regedit เหมือน rep บนๆนั้นละ

30.เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพด้วยการยกเลิกการเก็บ DLL ของ win XP
ใน การทำงานของ windows และโปรแกรมต่างๆ ระบบจะมีการโหลดไฟล์จำนวนมากหนึ่งกลุ่มที่ถูกใช้งานอ ยู่เสมอ และเป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญ คือไฟล์ DLL จำนวนมาก
เมื่อ DLL บางส่วนไม่มีการใช้งานอีกต่อไป เช่น เมื่อท่านปิดโปรแกรม แต่ winXP จะยังคงเก็บไฟล์เหล่านี้เอาไปไว้ในแคชเผื่อจะมีการใช้อีก ซึ่งจะทำให้สามารถใช้งานอย่างรวดเร็ว แต่การเก็บไฟล์เหล่านี้เอาไว้ จะเป็นการสิ้นเปลืองหน่วยความจำโดยไม่จำเป็น
ไปที่ regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentV ersion\Explorer
เอาแถบน้ำเงินวางใน Explorer
จากนั้นเลือกคำสั่ง edit>new>key
ให้ท่านตั้งชื่อเป็น AlwaysUnloadDLL จากนั้นในกรอบด้านขวา
ดับเบิ้ลคลิก default แล้วปรับ value data เป็น 1

11. หลายครั้งที่เปิดหน้าต่าง IE ขึ้นมา มันจะใหญ่ๆเล็กๆ ไม่เท่ากันใช่มั้ย ต้องานั่งกดให้มันเต็มจอทุกครั้งดูแล้วน่ารำคาญ
เรามีวิธีแก้ง่ายๆให้คุณ
1. เข้าที่ Starts > Program > Internet Explorer คลิกขวาเลือก Properties
2. ที่หน้าต่าง Internet Explorer Properties ช่อง Run: คลิกเลือกให้อยู่ที่ Maximized แล้วคลิก OK

ในกรอบ Bandwith limit(%) ปรับเป็น 0 แล้วกด ok

13.เวลาเราใช้คำสั่ง Search (Start>Search)
หาไฟล์ต่างๆในเครื่อง มันจะมีหมาน้อย ออกมาพูดแนะนำต่างๆใช่มะ
หากเราเหม็นขี้หน้ามัน เราสามารถไล่มันไปได้
วิธีก็ดังนี้เลย
ไปที่ Start>Search
จากนั้นดูด้านล่าง จะเห็น Change preferances คลิกเข้าไปโลด
คลิก Without an animeted screen character
เท่านี้เจ้าหมาน้อย ก็จะเดินจากเราไปแบบงอนๆ

14.เร่งความเร็ว start menu ให้เร็วทันใจ
ไปที่ start >run พิมพ์ regedit
เลือก HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\Control Panal\Desktop ดูกรอบขวามือ ดับเบิ้ลคลิก MenuShowDelay ปรากฏ edit string ในกรอบ value data ให้ใส่ไป 0 ไปเลย ถ้าอยากให้เร็วสุดๆ ^^

15.error report ความผิดพลาดในการใช้ windows xp
หรือโปรแกรมอื่นๆ เวลามันผิดพลาดจะปรากฏหน้าต่าง error report เพื่อแจ้งไปให้ไมโครซอฟได้รู้ แต่ถ้าจาปิดหน้าต่างนี้ ก็
คลิกขวา my com > propoties
เลือก advance คลิกปุ่ม error reporting
คลิกเม้าที่หน้า disable error reporting กด ok

16.System Restore จะช่วยให้สามารถเรียกระบบ window
ที่ สมบูรณ์กลับคืนมาเมื่อ windows มีปันหา แต่ปันหาว่า มันกินพื้นที่ไปประมาณ 15% ของ HDD ถ้าเรามีเนื้อที่ม่ายพอ ก้อปิดการทำงานส่วนนี้ไปเลย
คลิกขวา my com >propoties เลือกแถบ system restore เอาเครื่องหมายถูกหน้า turn off system restore ออก กด ok

17. ปรับขนาดของถังขยะ recycle bin เพื่อเพิ่มพื้นที่ในการใช้งาน
คลิกขวา recycle bin ไป propoties
ปรับที่ตรง % จากเดิมมันจะเป็น 20% ก็ปรับเป็น 4 %ของ HDD จะก็สามารถเพิ่มพื้นที่ของ HDD ได้อีก 16% เลย ^o^

18. ปรับแต่งโปรแกรมที่ใช้เป็นประจำให้เร็วขึ้น
ให้กดปุ่ม clrt + alt + delete ปรากฏกรอบ windows task manager เลือกแถบ processes
เลือกโปรแกรมที่จะปรับแต่ง คือคลิกขวาที่โปรแกรม แล้วไปที่ set priority
normal เป็นการทำงานปกติ ก้อปรับเป็น high
ถ้าโปรแกรมเร็วเกินไปก้อไปที่ low เมื่อปรับแต่งเสร็จจะแจ้งเตือนถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงค่า ให้คลิก ok

19. มีบางคนใช้คอมฯ อยู่ดีๆแล้วรีสตาร์ทอัตโนมัติ
สาเหตุก็เกิดจากโปรแกรมได้กำหนดค่าไว้ให้มีการรีสตาร์ทระบบอัตโนมัติเมื่อพบว่าระบบม

1. แปลงระบบ FAT32 ให้เป็น NTFS
ไปที่ start >run
พิมพ์ Convert X: /FS:NTFS
X คือ ไดร์ฟที่จะเปลี่ยน
ระหว่าง ไดร์ฟ: กับ / ต้องมีเว้นวรรค
แล้วกด ok แล้วจะมีการยืนยันกด yes ไปเรื่อยๆแล้วกด enter เพื่อ restart แล้วก็รอจะเข้า windows ใหม่ ก็เรียบร้อย

2.วิธี backup registry
start>program>accessories>system tool เลือก backup
จะปรากฏหน้าต่าง backup or restore
คลิกที่ลิงค์ advance mode

7. เมื่อ keyboard เสีย
เราสามารถใช้โปรแกรมที่มากับ winxp มาแก้ขัดก่อนได้ คือ on-screen keyboard

8. เข้า winXp ไม่ต้องรอนาน

เทคนิคการชาร์จแบตเตอรี่โน้ตบุ๊กให้คุ้มค่า

แบตเตอรี่ โน้ตบุ๊คที่ใช้กันอยู่ในปัจจุบันจะเป็นชนิด Lithium Ion (Li-on) ซึ่งมีจุดเด่นตรงที่สามารถชาร์จไฟได้ตลอดเวลา โดยไม่เกิดปัญหา Memory Effect (โน้ตบุ๊คบางยี่ห้ออาจจะเลือกใช้แบตเตอรี่ชนิด Lithium Polymer หรือตัวย่อ Li-Polymer ซึ่งมีคุณลักษณะใกล้เคียงกัน แต่น้ำหนักเบากว่า)

ปัญหา Memory Effect คือกรณีที่แบตเตอรี่ถูกใช้ไฟไม่หมดประจุแล้วมีการนำไปชาร์จไฟใหม่อยู่บ่อย ๆ ทำให้แบตเตอรี่ไม่สามารถจำค่าสูงสุดที่มันเคยเก็บไว้ได้ เป็นสาเหตุให้แบตเตอรี่ค่อย ๆ เสื่อมลงอย่างรวดเร็ว ส่วนใหญ่ปัญหา Memory Effect จะมีผลกระทบต่อแบตเตอรี่ชนิด Ni-Cad แต่สำหรับ Li-on และ Li-Polymer จะไม่มีผลกระทบแต่อย่างใด

แบตเตอรี่ แบบ Li-on และ Li-Polymer จะนับการชาร์จเป็นรอบ (Cycle) โดยจะแบ่งแรงดันออกเป็น 3 ระดับคือ 1C หมายถึง การชาร์จ ณ ระดับพลังงานแบตเตอรี่มากกว่า 65-70%, 2C หมายถึง การชาร์จ ณ ระดับพลังงานแบตเตอรี่ 35-60% และ3C หมายถึงการชาร์จ ณ ระดับพลังงานต่ำกว่า 30%

เทคนิคการชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ให้คุ้มค่า

1.จะชาร์จเมื่อไหร่?
จากกราฟ แกนแนวตั้งเป็นความจุ และแกนแนวนอนเป็นจำนวนรอบ (Cycle) ของการชาร์จ หากชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ที่ระดับ 3C จะสามารถชาร์จได้ประมาณ 300 รอบ (Cycle) ในขณะที่การชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ Li-on และ Li-Polymer ที่ระดับ 1C และ 2C จะสามารถชาร์จได้มากกว่า 400-500 รอบ (Cycle) ซึ่งสรุปได้ว่าการชาร์จที่ระดับ 1C จะทำให้พลังงานของแบตเตอรี่นั้นมีการสูญเสียพลังงานน้อยที่สุด ซึ่งหมายถึงอายุการใช้งานของแบตเตอรี่ที่มากขึ้นนั่นเอง (ในความเป็นจริง การชาร์จในระดับ 2C ดูจะสมเหตุสมผลมากกว่าในระดับ 1C แต่อย่างไรก็ตามควรหลีกเลี่ยงการชาร์จในระดับ 3C เพราะจะทำให้อายุการใช้งานการแบตเตอรี่ลดลงอย่างมาก)

คำแนะนำ: ควรชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ ณ ระดับพลังงาน ที่ 35-60 %

2. จะถอดหรือจะใส่แบตฯ อย่างไรดี?
มีคำแนะนำที่ว่า “หากจะไม่ได้มีการใช้โน้ตบุ๊คเป็นระยะเวลานานให้ทำการถอดแบตเตอรี่ออกจากเครื่อง” แต่ก่อนที่จะทำการถอดแบตเตอรี่ออกมาเก็บนั้นอยากจะให้ลองดูตารางด้านบนกัน สักนิด ตารางนี้แสดงถึงการสูญเสียพลังงงานของแบตเตอรี่ในระดับอุณหภูมิต่างๆกัน

โดย จากตารางจะเห็นได้ว่าหากทำการเก็บแบตเตอรี่ที่อุณหภูมิปกติ (25 องศาเซลเซียส) แบตเตอรี่ที่มีความจุ 40% จะคลายประจุออกมา 4% หลังจากผ่านไป 1 ปี และยิ่งอุณหภูมิการเก็บสูงขึ้นอัตราการคลายประจุก็มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มมากขึ้น
ในขณะที่แบตเตอรี่ที่มีความจุเต็ม 100% จะคลายประจุออกมาถึง 20% หลังจากผ่านไป 1 ปี และหากอุณหภูมิ การเก็บสูงขึ้นอัตราการคลายประจุก็จะมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มมากขึ้นเช่นเดียวกัน จึงสรุปได้ว่าหากต้องการถอดและเก็บแบตเตอรี่นั้นควรให้แบตเตอรี่มีความจุ 40% และควรเก็บในสถานที่ที่มีอากาศเย็น และไม่มีความชื้น (ตัวเลข 40% นี้เป็นค่าที่เหมาะสมที่สุดจากการทดลองในห้องแล็ป) ในทางกลับกัน กรณีที่มีการใช้งานโน้ตบุ๊ค การชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ทุกครั้งควรชาร์จให้เต็มความจุของแบตเตอรี่

3. ถ้าเสียบปลั๊กใช้งานควรจะใส่หรือจะถอดแบตฯ ดี?

ภาย ในแบตเตอรี่โน้ตบุ๊คนั้นจะมีวงจรไว้สำหรับควบคุมการชาร์จ โดยลักษณะของวงจรชาร์จแบตเตอรี่ที่พบในโน้ตบุ๊คจะมีอยู่ 2 ลักษณะคือ แบบที่ 1 ทำการชาร์จตลอดเวลาแม้ระดับความจุของแบตเตอรี่จะสูงกว่า 90% วงจรแบบนี้จะพบได้ในโน้ตบุ๊ค รุ่นเก่าๆ ส่วนแบบที่ 2 วงจรชาร์จแบตเตอรี่จะทำงานเมื่อระดับความจุของแบตเตอรี่ต่ำกว่า 90-95% (แล้วแต่ยี่ห้อ) โดยโน้ตบุ๊คส่วนใหญ่ในปัจจุบันนั้นจะใช้วงจรแบบที่ 2 นี้ เกือบทั้งหมด

ดังนั้นเมื่อพิจารณาจากวงจรการชาร์จทั้ง 2 แบบ แล้วสรุปได้ว่า หาดโน้ตบุ๊คของคุณเป็นรุ่นที่ใช้แบบเตอรี่ที่มีวงจรการชาร์จแบบที่ 2 แล้ว การเสียบปลั๊กเล่นก็ไม่จำเป็นที่จะต้องถอดแบตออกและจะไม่มีผลกระทบใดๆต่อ แบตเตอรี่เพราะวงจรการชาร์จของแบตเตอรี่ยังไม่ได้ทำงาน (ในกรณีที่แบตเตอรี่มีความจุมากกว่า 90-95%) แต่หากแบตเตอรี่มีความจุไม่ถึงระดับ 90-95% แนะนำให้ทำการใช้งานไปจนกว่าความจุของแบตเตอรี่จะลดลงถึงระดับ 2C หรือ 1C แล้วจึงค่อยเสียบปลั๊ก ในกรณีที่โน้ตบุ๊คของท่านเป็นรุ่นที่ใช้แบตเตอรี่ที่มีวงจรการชาร์จแบบที่ 1 (ไม่ตัดการทำงาน) ลองพิจารณาถึงข้อดี-ข้อเสียต่างๆ ดังต่อไปนี้

อย่าง ไรก็ตามด้วยคุณลักษณะของแบตเตอรี่แบบ Li-on นั้นจะมีการคลายประจุออกมาอยู่แล้วในอัตรา 10 % ต่อ 1 เดือน (ที่อุณหภูมิการใช้งาน) และอายุการใช้งานของแบตเตอรี่ของโน้ตบุ๊คก็จะไม่เกิน 2-3 ปี แต่หากมีการใช้งานอย่างถูกต้องเหมาะสมก็จะช่วยยืดอายุการใช้งานของแบตเตอรี่ ได้ยาวนานขึ้น

Win XP > วิธีทำให้เน็ทเร็ว
1. ให้ไปที่ Start>>>Control Penal>>Phone And Modem Options
2. เลือก modem ทีคุณใช้อยู่
3. เปิดขึ้นมาแล้วไปที่ Modem แล้วไปปรับ Maximum Port Speed ให้เป็นสูงสุดอ่ะนะแล้วก็ไปต่อที่ Advanced แล้วจะเห็น Extra Sittings
4. แล้วจะมีแถบ Extra initialization commandsให้พิมพ์ ATS15=128&K3 S2=255&W S34=32 S12=0 S10=100 S11=35 S27=64 S28=0 S36=7 ลงไป
5. แล้วไปต่อที่ Advanced Prot Sittings... กดตรงนี้
6. พอเปิดขึ้นมา ติกถูกตง Use FIFO Buffer
7. แล้วให้ไปปรับ Receive Buffer กับ Transmit Bufferให้เป็นสูงสุด
8. กดokเลย
9. ไปต่อที่ ตัวที่ใช้คอนเน็ตไปสู่ispนะ Start>Connect to
10. คลิ้กขวา ตรงตัวที่เราต้องการคับ เลือก Porperties

13. ไปที่ Options ไปแก้ตรง ldle time Before Handin upปรับเป็น never
14. ไปต่อที่แถบSecurity
15. ตะเห็นตง Security Options
16. เลือกตรง typical
17. ปรับเป็น Validdate my identity as follow:
18. เปลี่ยนเป็น Allow unsecures password
19. กด ok
ในการปรับแล้วของผมนะ ใช้ 921600 ก็กลายความเร็วจาก486.6 เป็น 861.2kbps เลยคับ

วิธีเซ็ตโมเด็ม Window xp
เริ่มกันที่การปรับความว่องไวปราดเปรียวของพอร์ทหรือ serial port 1 และ 2 ก่อนเพราะโมเด็มก็จะต่อโดยใช้
serial port 1 หรือ 2 ปกติแล้ววินโดว์จะปรับไว้ที่แค่ 9,600 Bits per second เท่านั้น ถือว่าเป็นคอขวดของการ
ไหลข้อมูลของโมเด็ม
1. ให้เปิด Device Manager ขยายสาขา ports (COM & LPT)
2.เลือกคลิกขวาที่ Communications Port (COM1)
3.เลือก Properties
4.เลือกแท็ป Port Settings ปรับ Bits per second เป็น 115200 ที่ Flow control เลือกเป็น Hardware
เสร็จแล้วคลิกที่ Advance จะได้วินโดว์ Advance Settings for COM1 ปรับค่า Recieve Buffer และ
Transmit Buffer เป็นค่าสูงสุดแล้ว OK ถือว่าเป็นการเสร็จสิ้นการปรับแต่ง port com 1 ให้ทำเช่นเดียวกันที่ port com 2

วิธีการตั้งค่า proxy :
1. คลิก Start >> Settings >> Control Panel
2. ดับเบิ้ลคลิกไอค่อน Internet Options จะเปิดหน้าต่าง Internet Options

5. ในช่อง Bypass proxy server for local address ให้ปล่อยว่างไว้
6. คลิก OK ไปเรื่อยๆ ปิดหน้าต่างทั้งหมด
7. ลองเชื่อมต่อต่างประเทศเช่น www.yahoo.com หรือ www.hotmail.com หากเข้าได้แสดงว่าใช้ได้

เวลาเราจะ เช็ค IP ของคนที่เราเล่นเอ็มด้วย คุยเฉยๆ เราเช็คไม่ได้ครับ เราต้องคุยแบบเสียง ใช้ไมค์ หรือมีการเล่น webcam อีกอย่างที่ ง่ายกว่าคือการรับส่งไฟล์ผ่าน msn ครับ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ก็เจ้า Command Prompt ไม่ต้องไปหาอะไรเพิ่ม

ขึ้นตอนแรก เราต้องส่งไฟล์ให้เป้าหมายเสียก่อนครับ ส่วนกลยุทธ์จะทำไงให้เค้ายอมรับไฟล์ เหอๆ ไปหลอกกันเองนะครับ (แต่สำหรับผม คนแปลกหน้าไม่คุ้นเคย ผมให้ส่งเข้าเมล์ตลอด ไม่รับไฟล์จากคนแปลกหน้า แม่สอนไว้ครับ ^^)

สมมติว่า เป้าหมายยอมรับไฟล์แล้วให้เราพิมพ์คำส่ง Netstat -a ที่หน้าต่าง Command Prompt แล้วกด Enter

ลืม บอกไปนิดนึง สำหรับมือใหม่ ที่ดูไม่ออกว่า IP ไหนเป็นของเป้าหมาย ง่ายๆ คือก่อนส่งไฟล์ให้เราพิมพ์คำสั่ง Netstat -n ไปครั้งนึงก่อน เราจะได้รู้ว่ามันมีอะไรแตกต่างขึ้นมาบ้าง ขณะที่เราทำการส่งไฟล์ให้เป้าหมาย ดูจากรูปครับจะได้เข้าใจกันง่ายขึ้น

สำหรับ Port ที่ MSN ใช้คือ 1863 ครับ เลข IP ของผมขณะนั้นเป็น 203.188.22.17 และ IP คนที่เราส่งไฟล์ให้คือ 128.24.170.187 ถ้าเราเช็คโดยที่ไม่มีการรับส่งไฟล์ เราจะทราบแค่เพียบ IP ของ Server ของ MSN เท่านั้นครับผม

And until pretty recently, the law of the jungle applied: only two animals of the same species could, you know, get together. Did you have a Mac? Then it wouldn’t be settling in for a long relationship any time soon with a PC.

Now, though, and in many ways, the rules no longer apply. For example, Skype is easy to use and has free, robust versions for both Mac and PC. If your PC pal wants to have a video conversation with you, a Mac wonk, all each of you has to do is download Skype software (www.skype.com) to your respective computers (again, it’s free); your computers will happily chat with each other all day long. Better yet, it's not just the software that's free. Even the calls will be free or very low cost, in most cases, all day long. It's even true if two of you have PC's and another friend has a Mac. As long as you all have installed Skype software, you'll have no problem.

Another way to do it: a Mac user who has iChat AV v2.1 will discover they have can do video conferencing with anybody who uses AOL Instant Messenger 5.5 for Windows.

Just Building the Thing

The Large Hadron Collider, which is expected to be fully operational this year, really is astonishingly … well, large. But the LHC’s main ring has a circumference of nearly 27 kilometers -- over 16 miles. The key bits of machinery are advanced magnets, about 9,300 in total. Some of them have to be super-cooled to run -- a coolant leak caused the accident that disabled the LHC last year -- and when it's working properly it'll be at a temperature of -271.25ºC (-456.25 Fahrenheit). That requires around 96 tons of liquid helium, and makes the LHC the largest cryogenic facility in the world. The main ring is also dotted with experimental chambers where the actual physics will happen -- the largest of these is five stories high.

Think about all this being carved into the rock under a mountain, along with all the wiring, cooling, heating, computing and so on. Just building the LHC has taught us a lot about mega-scale engineering.

Florida State commits to Wi-Fi deployment: four-year effort expands to campus classrooms

And for a large public university such as Florida State in Tallahassee, that undertaking can be similar in scale to that of a municipal deployment. Like other academic institutions implementing Wi-Fi, FSU has faced funding, security and manpower issues--and has found some creative solutions to all three challenges.

INITIAL EXPERMENT

IT personnel at FSU first began experimenting with Wi-Fi about four years ago as a means of connecting several outlying buildings to the campus computer network without having to lay fiber. That experience taught them that they would need to address potential security vulnerabilities before expanding further, says Clint Ringgold, FSU coordinator of computer system control. "We decided to go with a gateway approach to take care of security," Ringgold says.

A year of in-house testing followed. "We required people to log on to the campus network," says Ringgold. "That empowered us to be able to take known user information from the university and if there is a security issue, we can determine the individuals who might have been involved."

Manpower issues also were top of mind. "Part of our solution was that our network had to be able to be run by a very small number of people," Ringgold says. "We have three people in our wireless group taking care of approximately 3,000 total users, including 1,500 on a daily basis." Those numbers continue to climb and could swell to include all 40,000 faculty, staff and students as more and more computers come equipped with Wi-Fi cards.

Network administrators developed several computer screens that would be automatically sent to users when certain situations arose to help the users solve the situation on their own. The coupling of robot and social network is the idea of Dr Nikolaus Mavridis and co-researchers as they look into ways of overcoming the reluctance of people to stay in touch with robots.

In a paper on the pre-print website Archive.org server, the researchers say they want to find out if this can be thwarted by giving humans and robots a pool of shared memories and if they are part of the same social circle of friends.

The platform for exploring the problem is a robot that can recognise faces created by Dr Mavridis and colleagues from the Interactive Robots and Media Lab (IRML) at the University of the United Arab Emirates plus co-workers in Germany and Greece

The prototype is based on a PeopleBot machine from ActivRobots to which they have added a range finder, touch screen and stereo camera. The current prototype is called "Sarah" but when the project begins this will be swapped for a machine with the face of Islamic scholar Ibn Sina, aka Avicenna.

Under the hood the machine has three software modules to help it interact with people it meets at IRML. One module recognises the faces of real people or the images they place of themselves on Facebook.

"The thing about the neocortical column is that you can think of it as an isolated processor. It is very much the same from mouse to man - it gets a bit larger a bit wider in humans, but the circuit diagram is very similar," Henry Markram, leader of the Blue Brain project and founder of the Brain Mind Institute in Switzerland, told BBC News.

He added that, when evolution discovered this "mammalian secret", it duplicated it many many times and then "used it as it needed more and more functionality".

Spotify is set to launch a new toolkit this week, opening up its application programming interface (API) in order to encourage developers to build the service into a range of comms and entertainment devices such as mobiles, consoles and TVs.

Net firms start storing user data

The plans were drawn up in the wake of the London bombings in 2005.

ISPs and telecoms firms have resisted the proposals while some countries in the EU are contesting the directive.

Jim Killock, executive director of the Open Rights Group, said it was a "crazy directive" with potentially dangerous repercussions for citizens.

All ISPs in the European Union will have to store the records for a year. An EU directive which requires telecoms firms to hold on to telephone records for 12 months is already in force.

The data stored does not include the content of e-mails and websites, nor a recording of a net phone call, but is used to determine connections between individuals.

Authorities can get access to the stored records with a warrant.

Governments across the EU have now started to implement the directive into their own national legislation.

The UK Home Office, responsible for matters of policing and national security, said the measure had "effective safeguards" in place.

ISPs across Europe have complained about the extra costs involved in maintaining the records. The UK government has agreed to reimburse ISPs for the cost of retaining the data.

Sense of shock

He added: "It was introduced in the wake of the London bombings when there was a sense of shock in Europe. It was used to push people in a particular direction."

Sweden has decided to ignore the directive completely while there is a challenge going through the German courts at present.

"Hopefully, we can see some sort of challenge to this directive," said Mr Killock.

In a statement, the Home Office said it was implementing the directive because it was the government's priority to "protect public safety and national security".

Are you sure those sensitive files are not able to be accessed by all of your office staff but only trusted Sr. Managers or yourself. Say a technical savy personnel happen to have some knowledge of hacking, high possibility that your most valuable data in your server may be compromised.

Further, the vendor that installed the server and application, does he/she has the admin password ? What services are installed in the server ? Intruders may exploit the services vulnerabilities to gain access into the server.

It is difficult to to know where or who is the Intruder. Are they the intruders from the Internet only ? These are attackers that need to break into your firewall and IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) before getting their hands on the servers. There are those that can break into even the most advance security systems. Fortunately, the numbers are not many. However if they are your personnel, temporary staff, vendors, contracts, dispatch personnel. This will be easier as it is an insider job. Someone that have knowledge of your application, server or network. You will never know.

Rumours from the recent Nintendo Developer Conference held in London suggest that the Japanese company is about to launch an online application store for its DSi handheld.

Ahead of the April US and UK launch date, Nintendo seems likely to reveal that it is opening the so-called DSiWare store to applications that offer more than just gaming.

iPhone envy

The success of Apple's iPhone App Store looks like encouraging Nintendo to push developers to program outside the box for the DSi.

Early speculation has already covered Facebook apps that allow text and video posting thanks to the DSi's onboard cameras and other applications that focus on the touch-sensitive screen.

'Scareware' scams trick searchers

Makers of fake anti-virus software are exploiting search engines to drive people to sites peddling 'scareware'.

Using popular and mis-spelled search terms, the criminals divert people to sites that are seeded with fake warnings about virus infections.

The pop-up warnings claim that a visitor's PC is riddled with malicious programmes and spyware.

Research suggests some criminals are making as much as $10,000 a day from fake security software.

Cashing in

Computer security firm Finjan carried out the research into the techniques sellers of 'scareware' use to get their fake software in front of web users.

"They are misleading people with evidence that their machine is infected with viruses and they are encouraging them to download and buy software that basically does nothing," said Yuval Ben-Itzhak, chief technology officer at Finjan.

Studies suggest that 'scareware' is catching on among some hi-tech criminals.

A report by the Anti-Phishing Working Group, released in March 2009, found 9,287 bogus anti-malware programmes in circulation in December 2008 - a rise of 225% since January 2008.

Dell super-slim laptop

Computer giant Dell has joined the super-slim notebook race with the launch of its latest aluminium laptop.
It boasts a 13-inch screen and, with a depth of less than two-thirds of an inch, is thinner than Apple's MacBook Air and Hewlett-Packard's Voodoo Envy notebook.
The 2,000 dollar (£1,400) Adamo, from the Latin for "to fall in love with", comes in two colours, onyx and pearl.
The company already is taking orders, with the laptop set to start shipping March 26.
Dell, known for affordable, no-frills computers, leaned away from consumer-electronics and toward the seductive imagery of couture in its marketing campaign for the Adamo.
Dell knew it needed to "bring more brand lust and more got-to-have kind of products into the mix," said Michael Tatelman, the company's vice president of global consumer sales and marketing.
Dell declined to say how much the company spent on the Adamo campaign, but Tatelman said it "ranks among the bigger product launch campaigns that we do."

10 things you need to know about iPhone 3.0

The launch of Apple's new iPhone 3.0

firmware update was greeted with cheers and disappointment alike as some users got their wish and others... well, didn't.

1. Copy and Paste

Oh, don't go pretending you're not excited that this is here, moaning on about how 'it's a feature available on all smartphones these days'. While you may be right, Apple has managed to make this tiny feature into a Big Deal, and the way you do it (double tap to magnify text, scrolling and grabbing the beginning and end points) is pretty darn cool too.

2. The sheer range of APIs released

Slightly hidden from the consumer eye was Apple's larger onslaught into making the iPhone the most customisable (albeit with Apple's approval) handset out on the market. We're talking thousands of APIs here, allowing things like peer to peer Bluetooth connection for multiplayer gaming or contact sending, or allowing Google Maps to be used within other applications, so finding that restaurant is suddenly going to be a lot easier.

3. Using the iPhone to control accessories

This idea is pretty big, as it allows manufacturers to make Apps specifically for their hardware. While this could mean big things for the sex toy industry (just look at the route Gizmodo took straight away) it means things like the Lifescan from Johnson & Johnson are now possible, allowing diabetes sufferers to keep a visual record of their glucose levels.

But the possibilities (and cool factor) are now seemingly endless... you could make a golf accessory that assesses your swing using motion sensors and then Bluetooth the results to the iPhone for analysis (actually, that's a good idea, if you try and copyright it, then we'll fight you for it.)

4. MMS support

We all thought Apple would never do it, preferring to make sure the world thinks that e-mail is properly where it's at for sending pictures.

But it's not just those slightly-funny snaps you can pick ping over to your mates' phones now, it's also location info, contact sending and even audio files that can be passed to a friend's phone, so if you want to stalk someone AND listen to the same things as them, this is the upgrade for you.

5. Spotlight

Apple has found a new space within the iPhone... scrolling left from the homescreen. This new area allows you to search over the whole iPhone / iPod touch, and even finds Apps (if they're Spotlight enabled).

So if you're sure that you saw someone's name somewhere in the phone... you'll be able to find it now. And if you have a trillion Apps on there and countless home screens to scroll through you can now move straight there rather than straining your finger.

6. Localised search

As well as being able to search over the whole thing in Spotlight, you now have the option to search specifically in certain areas, like the upgrade that came in the iPhone 2.0 firmware allowing you to search through contacts.

And if there's nothing on the phone itself, users will also have the option to take things further afield by looking on a registered server to find the information there too.

7. Push notification

While we all wanted to see background applications running on the iPhone, in a similar way to the forthcoming Palm Pre, the truth is it's likely that the handset simply can't handle it.

So push notifications are the next best thing, with the phone keeping a constant connection to email servers and IM applications, with similar functionality available for other applications to make use of as they so wish.

8. Turn by turn directions

The problem with using the iPhone as a GPS navigation device in a car is, well, you can't really, unless you want to keep taking your eyes off the road to look where you are on the map, so the addition of turn-by-turn directions is a big plus in that department.

However, thanks to the big wide world of licensing agreements, you can't use Google Maps for the application, so if you want to make a turn-by-turn effort, you best bring your own maps.

That really limits this application to the big names like TomTom and Co-Pilot, and we doubt Garmin will be getting in on the action as it has a rival device out in the Nuviphone.

9. In-App purchase

This is another App-changer for iPhone-ites, allowing you to pay for things inside a program. What this essentially means is you'll be able to customise Apps as you want them, ie a magazine can be offered for free and you choose to subscribe from within the App, with the standard iTunes purchase interface popping up to confirm.

The newly-announced Sims 3 game allows you to do this to purchase items for around 60p, and other games will allow you to buy weapons or power-ups in exchange for cold, hard cash (well, the transaction's electronic, so there's no cash actually, but you get the picture).

By the way, you can also get in-game rumbling too... it's not important enough for its own point on this list, but it's pretty cool too.

10. Landscape QWERTY keyboard, A2DP and shake to shuffle

And finally, the 'tweaks'. Apple has finally dripped out a couple of things that iPhone users the world over have been asking for, like being able to use something else other than the QWERTY portrait keyboard. So the addition of a landscape option for all text input is a real plus, though we can't see why it's taken so long.

Coming 'this summer', it's free for iPhone users and around £7-ish for iPod Touch users, unfortunately original iPhone holders cannot use A2DP or MMS thanks to hardware constraints

A psychiatrist at the first NHS trust to trial tracking devices for dementia patients said the new technology could provide patients with more freedom to go out safely.
Dr Rupert McShane is running a two-year trial at the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health Trust which has become the first in the country to fit dementia patients with the pocket GPS devices.
A total of 20 patients from the Thames Valley and Somerset areas are taking part in the trial which enables their movements to be monitored on a map via a secure website.
Dr McShane, a consultant in old age psychiatry at the trust, told BBC Radio Five Live: "About 30% of people with dementia get lost at some point, and about 25% of them are locked into their houses by worried relatives.
"With the development of GPS technology, we think people with dementia might have more freedom to go out and they might be safer if they do go out, if it's possible to know where they are if they get lost."
Sue Fulford-Dobson, whose partner Ian is taking part in the trial, said: "He is fascinated by sunsets. So suddenly at eight o'clock at night he will say, 'There's a lovely sunset; I think I'll just go and see if I can see it better'. And that's when he will disappear.

Mozilla's mobile browser goes into beta

Mozilla's mobile browser 'Fennec' reaches stage one of the beta test phase today, with a release candidate now available that will work on Nokia N810 tablets, as well as Windows, Mac and Linux desktop emulators.

Fennec's Tracemonkey-backed JavaScript offers better support for third party add-ons, gestures and no-button browsing, all of which sound pretty impressive.

Android Handset Invasion Coming This Year

Never mind all of the hoopla surrounding Apple's iPhone: Today, Google's Android made some noise, too, in the form of news snippets from handset makers.

Take HTC, for example. The company's CEO, Peter Chou, was asked Tuesday to confirm a report that HTC will release five Android-based handsets this year. He replied that HTC will launch "at least" three. Bloggers have already gotten their hands on a leaked product lineup from the company and speculate that the HTC "Hero" will be another Android-based phone.

And a product lineup from Samsung was leaked in Amsterdam last Wednesday--one showing an Android-based phone. Rumors say that the handset has a capacitive touch-screen display and full Google integration. Two versions are expected: One for Europe and one for U.S. HSPA networks.

Smart-phone customers will certainly have plenty of options to choose from this spring and summer. With Apple's iPhone 3.0 update launching in June, it is pretty certain that Apple will release new hardware, too. It will be interesting to see how the forthcoming next-generation Android devices will stack up against the iPhone's third-generation hardware and software. And don't forget the Palm Pre--it's expected to make a huge splash on the smart-phone scene in the April-to-June time frame as well.

Malicious software may just be a property of the network

The Conficker worm will be active again on 1 April, according to an analysis of its most recent variant, Conficker.C, by the net security firm CA.
This malicious piece of software, also known as Downup, Downadup and Kido, spreads among computers running most variants of the Windows operating system and turns them into nodes on a multi-million member "botnet" of zombie computers that can be controlled remotely by the worm's as yet unidentified authors.
Since it first appeared in October 2008 it has apparently infected more than 15 million computers around the internet, though even that number is no more than an educated guess because the worm works very hard to disguise its presence on a PC.
The worm turns
Conficker spreads through a security vulnerability in the Windows Server Service that allows a carefully written program to persuade the attacked computer to run malicious code instead of the Microsoft-written software.
Once installed it turns off Windows Automatic Update and stops you using the Windows Security Centre. It disables a range of internal services that could be used by anti-malware programs, blocks access to a number of anti-virus websites and even resets and deletes system restore points so you can't go back to an uninfected installation of your operating system.
History lesson
Perhaps we should not be surprised that attempts to make these systems secure have failed.
I see a parallel between our attempts to have security and reliability in the complex computer systems we are building today and the attempts by philosophers at the turn of the 20th to reduce all of mathematics to formal logic.
The work of Frege, Russell and Whitehead was undermined by the Austrian mathematician Kurt Gödel when he published his Incompleteness Theorem in 1931. He showed that in any sufficiently complex mathematical system there will be statements that cannot be proved either true or false, and that this is not because of errors or mistakes but is a fundamental property of the system.

Image 3/3 A potpourri of operating systems flourish on smartphones and PDAs, including RIM's BlackBerry OS, the Symbian OS, Google's new Android OS, PalmOS and the Apple iPhone OS.
Amid this throng is Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, which is due to morph this year into WM 6.5 and after that into a new mobile version of the Windows 7 replacement for the lacklustre Vista.
The Windows Mobile user interface is nowhere near as pleasing to use as Apple's touchy feely iPhone, but it does offer many advantages, especially for business use.
Email integration with the likes of Microsoft Exchange is mature and solid. The Office Mobile apps usually included with the package allow viewing and editing of MS Office formats and, unlike the iPhone, it allows cutting and pasting between applications.
There are plenty of styles, feature sets and price points to choose from when shopping for a phone that uses Windows Mobile. We looked at three.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
THE Xperia is the narrowest of the trio at 53mm but is also deepest at 17mm and feels quite porky at 158g.
The Xperia X1's big party trick is swapping the look and feel of the home screen on the fly. A button marked Panel on the front of the case brings up a selection of home screens.
The quick panel change feature is truly useful, and extra screens, such as a Skype-centric one, can be downloaded.
The Xperia sports a very crisp 800x480 pixel, 3in display, assisted GPS, FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack and communicates at up to 7.2Mbps HSDPA.
There's a 3.2 megapixel, autofocus camera out back with a light and a video call camera around the front.

HP IPAQ 912c
HP's IPAQ 912c Business Messenger is all business and very little pleasure.
Done up in black and chrome, the 154g HP has a small, 320x240 pixel, 2.5in touchscreen with a QWERTY keypad below.
There's WiFi, assisted GPS, Bluetooth, a micro SD slot for more memory, but sadly the entertainment abilities are cramped by not having a universal 3.5mm headphone jack, although a mini-USB stereo headset is supplied.
At the back is a 3 megapixel, autofocus camera with light, but no front-mounted camera for video calls.

XTC Touch HD
THIS has the brightest handheld screen I've seen.
Running a white background it made a great impromptu flashlight.
The big 3.8in, 480x800 pixel touchscreen uses HTC's Touchflo 3D gesture-driven interface and is designed for eyeballing video content. Although not iPhone standard, the screen interface works well under finger control and there's a stylus for picky work. The touch keyboard is superior to the iPhone's.
The 147g phone has a 5 megapixel, autofocus camera (but no light) and there's video call camera up front.
There's also FM radio, Bluetooth, GPS, a micro SD slot, a G sensor and 7.1Mbps HSDPA.

Conclusion
ALL three of these Windows phones have their strengths.
While it won't win you much kudos in the my-phone's-flasher-than-yours wars, the conservative HP is a handy size, the cheapest here, simple to use and packs everything you really need for mobile business communications - if only it had a 3.5 headphone jack.
